Now let me take a second to point out that the name of the site is UFCTONIGHT, not street fights tonight, ghetto booty gang fights tonight, and definately not crazy topless woman fights tonight, It’s UFC Tonight!!! This site is devoted to the UFC and occasionally other professional MMA Venues. I will never feature backyard wrestling or street fighting of any kind, so stop asking.

Tomorrow night Live! That’s what I’ve been yelling out loud all day. I know this site is called UFC Tonight but I’m pretty excited about UFC Tomorrow Night!


Let’s start by saying that despite the name of tonight’s event, No! Rampage Jackson and Forrest Griffin. You’ll have to wait for UFC 86 for that battle, where we’ll see a lame card if I do say so.

Patrick Cote Vs. Ricardo Almeida, OK! I like Cote, Joe Stevenson Vs. Gleison Tibau, Josh Koscheck Vs. Chris Lytle, Tyson Griffin Vs. Marcus Aurelio, Gabriel Gonzaga Vs. Justin McCully, Jorge Gurgel Vs. Cole Miller, Melvin Guillard Vs. Dennis Siver, Corey Hill Vs. Justin Buchholz. All in all not a very exciting card. Let’s se if Rampage and Forrest give 100%. That fight alone may be worth the 40 bucks.


The Ultimate Fighter Finale is sure to be a great night o fights. Amir Sadollah Vs. CB Dollaway is going to be another great fight. Dollaway is going to come out all charge up after already messin Amir up with some good ground and pound only to lose by submission. Look for some nice kicks from Sadollah to try and slow down the viscious attack of Dollaway. My prediction for this fight is Dollaway round 2 ground and pound or stoppage due to cuts.

There are alot of other great fights scheduled for tomorrow including the return to the octagon by Diego Sanchez who I don’t think has looked the same since his loss to Jon Fitch in late 2007.

I’m looking forward to see the main event which finds Evan Tanner battling Kendall Grove. Tanner with 42 mma fights under his belt is defianately my pick for the night. This guy is tough as nails and loves to throw them. Kendall on the other hand has some great stand up. This one’s gonna be a brawl. Should be the fight of the night, but you never know, anything can happen in MMA!

205 lbs.: Houston Alexander (8-2) vs. James Irvin (13-4)

Houston Alexander ko'd with one superman punch. James Irvin tied the quickest ko in history at :08 seconds of the first round. Not sure wether the crowd was booing Alexander, Irvin or the stoppage. Houston refuses to believe it, but he went completely stiff for a couple seconds. Good call by the referee.

155 lbs.: Nate Diaz (8-2) vs. Kurt Pellegrino (11-3)

Round 1: Pellegrino comes out the stronger of the two. Cuts Nate Diaz up with big elbows on the ground. Kurt takes Nate's back with 1:50 remaining in the round but they scramble and as Nate gets back to his feet and the round ends.
Round 2: Pellegrino take down into full guard, Nate eats more elbows. Nate's got a real tight guard goes for kimora. Kurt pops out of it. Pellegrino takes Diaz' back as they get up to their feet, Kurt sweeps for yet another takedown. Pellegrino got way to confident on the take down. Nate applies the guillotine as Kurt takes him down where he easily switches up to a real tight triangle. Nate cheers and double Fingers the Heavens before the fight is even stopped. Nate diaz by triangle.

205 lbs.: Matt Hamill (3-1) vs. Tim Boetsch (7-1)

Round 1: Hamill looks confident takes Tim down with ease and gets one leg out to half guard. Boetsch holding on tight keeping him close. Can't get Hamill to full guard. 2:30 fighters stand back up, Tim tries head kick on Hamill followed by nice leg kick! by boetsch. Tim looks good on his feet, nice knee at 1:30. Both look extremely tired breathing through their mouths. Boestch landing a huge knee cutting hamill's bottom lip wide open. Hamill follows with right, counterd with another knee by Boetsh who ends the round strong. Hamill ends round blodied up.

Round 2: Bottom lip pratically hanging off his face working front kick and right hook. Fight goes to the mat, Hamill completely overwhelming Tim, working him from the top Matt lands a flurry of punches to the face. Holding Tim's head still and pounding him with relentless punches with the rape choke in place as Joe Rogan calls it. Strong Second round Victory for MAtt Hamill.
Best fight so far!

170 lbs.: Karo Parisyan (18-4) vs. Thiago Alves (13-3)

Round 1: Karo with the clinch and take down and side cotrol on the mat, Alves scrambles to the cage, Parisyan gets the mount than back to half guard. Alves up to his feet, Karo still got the clinch and Thiago Alves breaks free. Karo lands combo and front kick. Alves lands his first leg kick but almost gets caught by Karo who keeps switching his stance to avoid leg kick. They exchange kicks. Karo with a nice foot sweep, scramble in the clinch, round ends standing.

Round 2: Parisyan starts the round with head kick. Alves ends it with a huge knee. Karo goes down and the fight is stopped prematurely. Parisyan ate a few shots after he hit the ground but was already defending himself when the fight was stopped.

170 lbs.: Tommy Speer (9-2) vs. Anthony Johnson (4-1)

Anthony Rumble Johnson Knocks out Tommy Speer at 51 Seconds of the first round. It all started with a left head kick immediately followed by a right knee. Takess him to the fence and pummels him unconscious.

155 lbs.: Frank Edgar (8-0) vs. Gray Maynard (4-0)

Slow boring technical batttle. Maynard landing hard jabs. Edgar landing punches in the 2nd round. Gray with two good takedowns. Edgar works the kimora out of the 2nd round. Round three exchange right hands, clinch, combo by edgar. Maynard with two big take downs gets the hook in from the back and looses it. Back to their feet, another big take down for maynard followed by mount to half guard, short elbows. Edgar goes for the kimora ends up in north south and we're off to the scorecards. I was not excited at all about or by this fight.

155 lbs.: Kenny Florian (7-3) vs. Joe Lauzon (16-3)

Round 1: Florian vs. Lauzon under way, feelin each other out. Lauzon grabs a kick thrown by Florian and takes him to the cage then to the ground and lands in Kenny's guard. Florian rains down a bunch of deadly elbows to the top of Lauzons head who needs to tuck his head down to avoid the punishment, redirecting the elbows to the back of his head. Ref stands them up and warns Florian about striking the back of the head. Kenny takes Joe down again and scrambles to side control. Joe works his way to his feet only to be taken down again. Lauzon makes a few ankle lock attempts but is unsuccessful.

Round 2: Florian early second round take down. Florian full mount with nasty
elbows. Lauzon gets kenny to side control only to get punished more.
Full mount again and again three times in total. Fight ends with Kenny Florian in full mount dropping repeated right hands to the ear and straight down to the chin of Joe Lauzon at 3:30 of round 2.
